Juan Caceres: "We are a team, and everyone should move in the same direction"

The Paraguayan defender evaluated the start of the season, told about his new role as a father and the unusual gift of Bitello.

— After the match with CSKA, Valery Karpin said that the team's performance in the first 15 minutes and in the second half gives hope. What happened in the second half of the first half?

— We tried to show our game, but we made simple mistakes, after which we conceded goals. Therefore, we lost the first half with a big score, after the break we created a lot of chances, but, unfortunately, we scored only one goal.

— What is the atmosphere in the team before the match with Paris NN, which must be won?

— We continue to work hard in training to get out of this situation and start winning. We are a team, and everyone should move in the same direction.

— It is clear that the result is affected by the restructuring of the game system. To what extent has the team already accepted the requirements imposed on it by the coaching staff?

— Of course, we understand the requirements, which are very high even in training. The coach tells us: in matches we run more opponents, but one run is not enough, we need to play football. We need to move the ball more actively in the middle of the field and supply the strikers with balls more often so that they score.

— The defense line was seriously updated in the summer. How do you like the newcomers of the team – Maxim Osipenko and Rubens?

— These are excellent amplifications. Both are quality players who know how to handle the ball and know how to defend. We all need to keep working hard to improve our game.

— Rubens said in an interview that in recent weeks he had eaten as much salad as he had not eaten in his entire life. Has nutrition become stricter?

— Yes, it has become much stricter, certain foods have been removed from the diet, now we do without sweets. But it's okay if it's necessary for the success of the team.

— Because of the national team games, you didn't have a vacation this summer. Will there be enough strength until the end of the year?

— Yes, I didn't have a vacation, so fatigue is gradually accumulating, but given the conditions of recovery at our base and the requirements of the physical training coach, I think I will have enough strength until the end of the year.

— How would you rate the start of the season for yourself personally?

— I did a good job in the pre-season, so I feel good physically. It's great that I managed to score my debut goal for Dynamo. It will definitely remain special for me along with my first goal in my adult career, which I scored for Racing in the Copa Libertadores. After all, the extreme defenders don't score so often, this is only my fifth goal in my career.

— This season you are in 4th place in the league in terms of won single combats. Is this what the coaching staff is focusing on?

— Of course, the coach says that we have to fight in every moment and win individual single combats so that we can start our attacks faster.

— In the last two matches, the stands of our stadium were almost full. How do you like the atmosphere at the beginning of the season?

— I was pleasantly surprised by such attendance, there were more people than last season. But when I'm on the field, I don't see what's going on in the stands, because I'm completely focused on what's happening on the field.

— A photo of a keyring with a Cheburashka, which Bitello gave you, has spread in social networks. Do you know what kind of character this is?

— Yes, Gladi explained to me who it was, and we laughed together. In general, I appreciated Bitello's joke, and the keychain is really beautiful.

— What kind of cartoons did you like as a child?

— Yes, I've watched almost everything in a row, but I really like Stitch.

— Soon you will have to watch them again when your son grows up. How were your first two weeks as a young father?

— It was not easy. My wife spent five days in the hospital, so I also had to spend the night there, and then I immediately went with the team to Sochi. When I returned, they were already at home, and I can say that I was lucky – my son sleeps a lot, so I don't have any problems sleeping either.

— Tell us, how did you settle in with your wife in Moscow? Why did you decide to give birth here?

— She came here already pregnant, and I really wanted to attend the birth, so we decided to give birth here, no problem. Besides, she really likes Moscow. Now we don't go out so often, but our mother-in-law and a couple of friends just came to us, so we went to Red Square, to walk around the shopping center and to the stadium.

— Do you have a tattoo with your favorite dog, has it already been moved too?

— Yes, my favorite French bulldog is already in Moscow. He survived the long flight well, and we were reunited.

— In September you will go to the national team of Paraguay, which has the last step left on the way to the World Cup. How important an achievement will this be for you?

— It will be very cool to qualify for the World Cup after 15 years. Everything depends on us, and we will do everything to make the whole country happy.

— The last time Paraguay played in the World Cup was in 2010, when you were 10 years old. Do you remember that tournament?

— Yes, I remember him very well. We were living in Argentina at the time and went to a bar where all Paraguayans gathered to watch World Cup matches. I remember well the quarterfinals in which our team lost to the Spaniards 0:1. It was the best performance in the history of the national team. If we get to this tournament, I hope we can go even further.
