16 teams born in 2014 took part in the competitions held from April 11 to 13. In addition to the pupils of the Lev Yashin Dynamo Academy and its branches, young football players from Krasnodar, CSKA, Neftchi (Baku), SSHOR No. 1 (Belgorod), Dynamo (Bryansk), Dynamo (Makhachkala), Spartak (Stary Oskol) and Voronezh school "Dynamo".
This year the competitions were timed to coincide with the Cosmonautics Day. Such symbolism is especially significant for Voronezh, the city where the engines that provided the first human flight into space were created.
Over the course of three game days, the teams demonstrated a high level of preparation, and the tournament was remembered for hard struggle, bright matches and unexpected results.
Dynamo from Vladivostok, who won silver medals, became a real discovery. The team from the Far East competed on equal terms with the favorites of the tournament – Krasnodar and CSKA – beat Krasnodar and led in the final for a long time. The fate of the trophy was decided only in a penalty shootout.
Bronze medals were won by young Dynamo players from the Voronezh branch of the Academy. Separately, it is worth noting the pupils of the Voronezh Dynamo school, who demonstrated a high level of play and looked worthy against the background of recognized academies.
All participants of the tournament received not only valuable gaming experience and emotions from a real football holiday, but also memorable gifts from tournament partners – PJSC SOLLERS and VTB Bank.
Among the honored guests of the tournament were the coordinator of the junior main group of the Neftchi Academy, Honored Coach of Azerbaijan Islam Kerimov, Director of Development of the Dynamo Football Academy Denis Dmitriev, Head of the Department for Relations with Government Agencies of PJSC SOLLERS Lilia Obolonskaya, Deputy Director of the Voronezh Regional Operational Office of VTB Bank Igor Mazurenko and Vice-President of the Voronezh Regional Football Federation Vladimir Moskalev.
The competitions were held at a high organizational level, gave the participants vivid emotions and became an important step in their sports development. The tournament was made possible thanks to the joint work of the Dynamo Academy, the Voronezh branch and project partners.
The Dynamo Academy Cups continue to fulfill their key mission – to create an environment for the development of youth football, strengthen sports ties between regions and support the growth of the level of training of young players.
